Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just

going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and

not bothering.

Therapy with Children

We all have within our essential nature the capacity to cope, to be in harmony with ourselves.  The problems that bring a child to therapy are often a sign that something has disturbed this inherent ability.  My job is to help children reconnect with their own unique potential, including their natural impulse toward growth, exuberance, and creativity.

The goal of therapy is to help children feel better in their own skin and in the world, to become more resilient, and to deal with their own emotions and with life stressors with a stronger sense of self.

As a registered art therapist for over 30 years, I often use art therapy and play therapy to communicate with children, offering them opportunities to explore their feelings through art imagery and creative play.

I meet with parents and other family members regularly to provide continuity at home, and I'm available for school visits and consultations as needed.
